Music Tells A Story
Music has the power to transport us to another time and place. Mars Burke loves to harness that power with a broad audience of fellow music lovers and passionate musicians alike. Ever since a young age, Mars Burke has found great joy and satisfaction in making music and sharing it with fans and people all over the world. Take a look around the site to get to know Mars Burke and all that they have to offer.

Mars Zira Burke serves Principle Eb Clarinet in the McNeese State University Wind Symphony and performs with the McNeese State University Clarinet Choir. They are currently a Senior Music Performance Major and graduated from Port Neches-Groves High School of Port Neches, Texas in 2017.
Mars has participated in TMEA All-Region competitions during their 4 years of high school and had the opportunity to advance to TMEA All-Area three consecutive years. They also participated and holds superior medals for TMEA Solo and Ensemble for six consecutive years and had to opportunity to advance to Texas State Solo and Ensemble and earned two superior medals their senior year. They have received two Semper Fidelis Awards for Musical Excellence and received the Outstanding Sophomore, Junior, and Senior Award for outstanding performance and lasting contribution to the PNG-Indian Band.
Mars was selected as Section Leader for the PNG-Indian Band for two consecutive years and had the opportunity to audition for Drum Major their senior year.
In 2019, Mars was accepted for the alternate players pool for the Rapides Symphony Orchestra in Alexandria, LA.
Mars plans to continue playing with local ensembles after graduation and teaching private lessons to students in the area, and wants to pursue a career in Veterinarian Medicine.
When not making music, Mars enjoys video games, playing with their cats Midnight and Oliver, spending time with their partner Josh and son Sebastian.

PRIVATE LESSONS

Price non-negotiable, discussed before scheduling. These prices reflect lessons scheduled outside of Taylor Robinson Music.
Beginner: $10 for 30 min, $15 for 1 hour
Intermediate: $15 for 30 min, $20 for 1 hour
*Advanced: $20 for 30 min, $30 for 1 hour

PERFORMANCES
Clarinet, A. Sax, Piano
Classically trained on clarinet for solo or ensemble performances; previous experience with stage bands for musicals reading the woodwind book. I have access to Bb, A, and Eb clarinets, and an Alto Sax as needed. Can play intermediate piano as needed too.

Acceptance is based on availability, time commitment, and travel distance.

I will not accept payment in exposure.

COMPOSING/ARRANGING
Solo or Ensemble Pieces, Arranging for specific needs
Commission based. All pricing will be discussed before any work is begun. Must pay a non-refundable deposit to secure a commission slot and before I begin any work.
If asking for an arrangement: I must receive the original work you would like arranged, instrumentation, and other specifications you'd like along with the non-refundable *deposit of $30.
If asking for an original work: I must receive instrumentation, style, and other specifications you'd like with the *deposit of $50.

*Base deposit amount, will vary based on type of commission and time commitment.
Cancellation policy:
Before first draft is finished: no fee
After first draft is done but before 2nd draft is done: 1/4th original commission price
After 2nd draft is done but before final draft is done: half original commission price
After final draft is done: full commission price

Policy is non-negotiable. I don't work for free; commission quotes are based on time commitment and labor, all copyright licensing fees are included in the commission price. Once a price is confirmed it is non-negotiable.
